MID CENTURY MODERN

The mid century modern look is a prevailing favourite within current interior design trends

People are tapping into the mid century look for its classic yet modern appeal. Yet design classics, and in particular those that adhere to the mid century ethos, which tends to place heavy emphasis on quality woods and warm metals, can be prohibitively expensive for younger buyers hoping to replicate the industrial trend. In their new winter 2018 collection, Cult Furniture has reinvigorated mid century style with subtle 21st century flourishes and made the whole range accessible to budget-conscious consumers.

Dark furnishings with luxurious metallic touches are the mainstay of this collection. With dark woods and fluid forms being other prominent design trends for winter 2018, Cult Furniture tick more than one box. Take the studio tripod floor lamp in black and copper as an example of how to easily and inexpensively add old school Hollywood glamour to your space. This wooden floor lamp recalls the design of a vintage studio light, from its angled tripod legs to the retro metal spotlight. Available in a range of metal finishes, such as brushed copper, brass or chrome, it will bring silver screen impact to your interiors.

In brown faux leather, the Piper bar stool emits smoky, dark bar vibes. The industrial style bar features a sleek black metal frame with a comfortable footrest, making it a versatile option when rethinking the aesthetic of a breakfast bar. Also available in black, so you can choose the right hue to match your colour palette.

Be the talk of the table with Cult Studio’s Jasper wooden dining chair in walnut. With mid century Scandi influences, the Jasper has been brought up to date by Cult Furniture’s in-house design team through the inspired addition of gold capped feet. Other design features include a sleek beech wood curved back rest, sturdy frame and legs and a soft faux-leather seat.

Designed in house by Cult Furniture’s dedicated team, the sturdy Brooke dining chair is crafted in solid wood with brass metal tips and soft faux leather seating. This vintage-inspired chair with a modern-day twist will give your dining table the stylish touch it’s been asking for.

Striking yet elegant, update your home or office with the Altra glass coffee table with solid wood frame in black. It works perfectly in kitchens, dining or living rooms – anywhere with a little space to fill. Bringing together mid century design influences with contemporary materials, the Altra glass table comes with a striking curved solid ash wood frame contrasted against a simple, clean tempered table top. It’ll instantly become a centrepiece!
