NEW BEGINNINGS

Over the last decade, the New Year has become synonymous with the search for a new home

Estate agents frequently report an increase in viewings during the first few months of the year as buyers are motivated to put into action plans made over the Christmas period.

Deals done now could see you in a new home for spring – perfect timing then for completion of 31 new homes currently being crafted in one of the Ribble Valley’s prettiest villages, Hurst Green.

The Warren, on Whalley Road, is the work of award-winning luxury homebuilder Hillcrest Homes and comprises of two to five bedroom energy efficient homes in a range of styles, from bungalows and mews cottages to large detached homes, all finished in ivory render and sandstone from nearby Leeming Quarry in Stonyhurst.

We caught up with James Payne, Managing Director, as the company embarks on the final stages of construction.

How is it looking James?
It looks fantastic and has surpassed even our high expectations. Every development we craft is bespoke and designed from scratch to complement the location. Seeing how well the new homes sit within the landscape is really rewarding. The mix of homes has helped achieve our ambition to create a development that looks like it has grown organically over time.

What kind of buyer is The Warren appealing to?
The homes are attracting buyers at all life stages looking for aspirational living in a prestigious village location, from professional couples and young families to those wanting to downsize but not necessarily downgrade their home. Some buyers are moving from outside the area seeking a slice of the laid-back lifestyle that’s earned the Ribble Valley the title of ‘Happiest Place to Live in the UK’.

When are the first residents moving in?
Now! Mark (pictured centre with James Payne of Hillcrest, left, and Chris Driver of Honeywell Estate Agents, right) was the first resident to move in. He is Director of a marketing company in Manchester city centre. He commutes by car or by train from Clitheroe, just four miles away, and enjoys the best of both worlds – the excitement of working in the city and the peace and tranquillity of a home in a picturesque village location close to family roots.

Why should buyers consider The Warren?
The Warren offers an irresistible combination of bespoke architecture, superb specification, energy efficiency and a great location with breath-taking views towards Pendle Hill. The community is warm and welcoming, there are Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ schools on the doorstep and a range of great local pubs and walks. It’s a fabulous place to call home.

A show home is open on Saturdays 10am-3pm and Sundays 2pm-3pm (from 4th January) and by appointment at other times. Five properties are available to purchase via Home Reach, the nationwide part-buy-part-rent home ownership initiative open to buyers at all stages of the property ladder, and are priced from £65,000 for a 25 per cent share.
