New Head For Fleetwood School

The Council of Rossall School is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Jeremy Quartermain as Rossall School’s new headteacher

Jeremy Quatermain is set to join Rossall School as the new headteacher. Jeremy, who was the deputy head (Academic) at Brentwood School, was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School before studying for a history degree at Peterhouse, Cambridge University. He completed an M.Phil. in medieval history at Trinity College, Dublin, where he also tutored under-graduates within the department.

Appointed to teach history and classical civilisation at Gresham’s School in 2007, Jeremy was subsequently elected head of sixth form in 2010. In this role he was responsible for the day-to-day running and strategic development of the sixth form. Appointed deputy head (Academic) at Brentwood School in 2013, Jeremy has worked hard to ensure that every pupil is supported to become the very best version of themselves, through the provision of a dynamic and exciting curriculum, excellent pastoral care and an intellectually challenging and culturally vibrant environment. He has continued to work as a freelance educator for the Holocaust Educational Trust and, more recently, he became a compliance inspector for independent schools.

Reflecting upon his appointment, Jeremy said: “It is an honour and privilege to be chosen to serve this wonderful school and, as a family, we are looking forward to joining this incredibly warm and welcoming community on the Fylde coast. I am committed to building upon the excellent work of Ms Elaine Purves and my ambition for the school and my commitment to each and every member of this community is boundless.”
