Located in the picturesque village of Bispham and just 30 minutes’ drive from central Preston, Owd Barn has been offering a warm family welcome since 1990 with its farm shop, tearoom, country store and home and gift lofts.

Adding to Owd Barn’s rustic charm and friendly warmth of character, the recently extended home interiors loft area sits on a mezzanine floor with beautifully styled displays set against the original stone walls of the building.

Offering a stunning range of soft furnishings, décor, furniture and homeware gifts, the new loft space is packed with ideas for your own home or to treat your family and friends. The displays include an extensive range of feature clocks, soft furnishings, candles, console, dining and coffee tables and tableware. All the displays come from unique, quality suppliers such as vintage homeware company, Biggie Best, with its chunky photo frames, eclectic plates and beautiful napkins. There’s also Accrington-based homeware company, Coach House, with its luxury throws, cushions, ornate lamps and glasses. Everything on offer radiates style and quality, from the industrial, edgy designs to the elegant console tables and soft furnishings, you’re bound to find something to suit your taste.

On the same mezzanine level is the newly stocked gift loft which is packed with gorgeous gifts for all occasions including stylish Treaty jewellery, vibrant scarves, gloves, socks and accessories from Powder (which all come in their own beautiful gift bags) cards, soaps, candles and Marble ladies clothing.

On the ground floor, the farm shop offers a vast range of locally produced and homegrown goods including potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli grown on the family’s own 200-acre arable farm, which has been in the family for over 200 years. It’s also proud to stock homemade cakes from Lathams of Preston, fresh meat from award-winning butchers Hallsworth & Son of Ormskirk and breads and pies from Chorley.

The tearoom and ice cream parlour serve food between 10.30am and 3pm and offer a range of traditional farmhouse homemade meals with chips made from the potatoes grown on the farm. It also has a daily choice of cakes, locally produced Fredericks ice cream as well as traditional and speciality teas, coffee, hot chocolate and soft drinks. Or, why not treat yourself to afternoon tea at £18.95 per person? See the website for available times.

Afternoon tea booking is required 48 hours in advance.

Next to the tearoom is the garden equipment and décor area. Worth a look for rustic metal containers, garden lanterns or British made Kent & Stowe spades.

Owd Barn certainly offers a great family day out in the beautiful west Lancashire countryside.
