New Treatments

For Women’s Health

Award winning clinic RejuvaMed at Holmes Mill introduces specialist women’s health services including Bioidentical HRT, writes Sarah de Waard

After a successful launch in 2017, which saw the clinic named Best New Business at The Ribble Valley Business Awards 2018, RejuvaMed Skin Clinic & Vein Centre has expanded its offering in Clitheroe in 2019 to include several new treatments.

Experienced local GP Dr Helen McKeating has joined the team, specialising in women’s health and gynaecology.

Dr Helen explains: “Many women experience potentially embarrassing and inconvenient waterworks symptoms which include what we call stress or urge incontinence. This means they have ‘oops moments’ when coughing, laughing or sneezing, or need to suddenly rush to the toilet. It is thought that up to 60 per cent of women experience such symptoms.

“There is limited help that can be offered for such problems by the NHS and often women are ashamed and afraid to seek medical care. But now RejuvaMed offers a new high-tech treatment which can quickly help solve those problems.”

“The clinic has introduced the 3D-Vjuve, which is the latest addition to 3D’s range of laser systems. The 3D-Vjuve offers an exciting new vaginal tightening treatment, working in a minimally invasive way to manage a range of post-childbirth and peri-menopausal issues, from incontinence to vaginal atrophy (thinning and inflammation of the vaginal wall) and dryness. It can also improve sexual function.”

After an initial consultation to assess suitability, Dr Helen uses the 3D-Vjuve to treat these embarrassing and often limiting conditions in a fast, painless and highly effective way, with little or no downtime.

A consultation with Dr Helen is £50, with each subsequent treatment priced at £500, or just £1300 for the recommended course of three sessions.

RejuvaMed is also the first clinic in Lancashire to introduce bioidentical HRT (hormone replacement therapy), a natural, individually tailored and effective alternative to current NHS HRT treatments.

Bioidentical hormones have the same chemical structure as naturally occurring hormones, which diminish as we age. These can benefit patients who have a hormone imbalance, particularly if they have tried other hormonal medications on the NHS, including HRT, and experienced unwanted side effects.

After an initial consultation, Dr Helen will carry out blood tests to pinpoint specific issues and then prescribe a personalised treatment plan that includes a tailor-made hormone prescription. The medicines are then delivered to your home address.

Bioidentical HRT can give relief from a wide range of pre-menopausal and menopausal symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, weight gain and sleep issues. It can also help treat other hormonal imbalances such as menstrual problems, post-natal depression, osteoporosis and endometriosis.

The treatment plan includes regular follow ups and monitoring in order to ensure optimum results.

Prices for Bioidentical HRT start at £50 for an initial fact-finding consultation.
