Featuring award-winning lifestyle brands including Joules, Seasalt, White Stuff and Thought all under one roof, makes Velvet very much a destination boutique.

Distinctive patterns and colours that identify the UK Joules brand have long been a staple at Velvet and this season, the new collections are as stunning as ever. Award-winning Seasalt which draws on its Cornish heritage, is also a strong lifestyle brand that is committed to quality and affordability – something that Debbie Mc Dermott and her team at Velvet embrace.

Womenswear ‘Brand of the Year’ Thought Clothing is hand crafted from organic fabrics and endorses Velvet’s credentials as one of only 500 stockists globally to be chosen as an exclusive retailer – testament to the boutique’s discerning collections.

The team at Velvet are passionate about what they do – customers are at the heart of this ladies’ wear boutique that has forged a reputation for its exclusive brands and its friendly, excellent service.

Velvet moved to its current premises last year when owner Debbie took the opportunity to expand the thriving business.

“It has been an exciting time for us,” says Debbie, who has 30 years of retail experience helping big high street names such as Clark’s develop their brands.

With this vast experience, she originally launched Velvet seven years ago on Square Street in Ramsbottom, and since then it has evolved into one of the region’s ‘go to’ boutiques for some of the best brands in the industry.

“We are extremely busy, footfall has massively increased since we moved and people know we have some of the best brands in the business. It is unusual to find so many different products and choice under one roof.”

The team merchandise the store with products outfitted as you would wear them, in differing colour palettes, making the shopping experience easy and enjoyable. With the offer of a complimentary ‘brew’ and several fitting rooms to choose from, you can relax and shop to your heart’s content.

There’s also a huge choice of exquisite tweed jackets and crisp white shirts from Spanish brand Bariloche and Italian brand Claudio Lugli. Irish brand Jack Murphy also offers a country tweed range which is 100 per cent Shetland wool.

There are also smart casual collections from German company Barbara Lebek, Italian Perruzzi and cruise and cocktail dresses by Frank Lyman.

Velvet are the biggest stockist in the north for the world-renowned Danish trouser house Robell – known for their perfect fit! If you need a pair look no further as Velvet stock virtually every line of their best-selling trousers.

But there is so much more to Velvet than just great clothes – the boutique, laid out on two stunning floors, has brands from all over the world but it is the individual attention given to customers that makes it stand out from the crowd.

The team is proud to deliver friendly, first class customer service, ensuring each shopper leaves the boutique happy with their purchase.

Placing equal emphasis on style and substance, Debbie’s team understands and values their customers, who want clothes that are as practical as they are elegant. They are dedicated to helping customers choose what is right for them.

“Our collections very much appeal to all age groups,” adds Debbie. “Without our customers we would not exist, and that’s always at the forefront of our mind. Product knowledge is key within our team which goes hand in hand with us being the best we can be.”

“We have a very loyal customer base who enjoy our friendly, honest, no-pressure service. We want them to tell their friends about us and return again and again – and they always do!”
