Off And On Road

When it comes to buying a new car, it’s important to do your research. It’s a big investment and it must be right for yours and your family’s needs, writes Tracy Hargreaves

If you’re after an SUV (sports utility vehicle), then you will want something spacious, practical and capable. Whether you’re looking for a seven-seater, or a car that has incredible off-road ability, there are models coming onto the market all the time, so there’s plenty of competition to choose from.

Originally SUVs were for driving off road. But today it’s the high driving position, modern styling and practicality that’s winning over consumers. Peugeot and Skoda offer practical cars that are well built, look good and are great family cars. If you want luxury, then it would have to be the Range Rover. This car looks just as good on the farm, as it does dropping someone off at The Ivy restaurant. It is spacious and comfortable at all speeds.

For something cheaper, the Dacia Duster does look and feel basic, but what do you expect for less than £10,000. However, it does look like an SUV, has space for four adults and has a big boot. It’s not particularly quick but is cost efficient if you go for the diesel model.

Some SUVs even come in a hybrid model, so they’ve got everything covered. What’s not to like. An SUV could be your next car in 2019.
