OPEN EVENTS:

THEY’RE NOT JUST FOR SCHOOL LEAVERS!

It’s definitely Open Event season as people across Lancashire are making plans for their children’s next education steps. But did you know Open Events aren’t just for school leavers?

Blackburn College’s next Open Events take place on Tuesday 16th October 2018 (from 4.30pm-8pm) and Saturday 10th November 2018 (from 10am-1pm) and will also provide the perfect opportunity for adults to find out more about retraining, doing something that you really love or embarking on a new future career.

The University Centre at Blackburn College offers a full range of degree-level courses for adults – including a range of Honours degrees with Foundation Entry which are ideal if you have been out of formal study for some time.

Management graduate Fabio Fiocca opened his own business after enrolling at the University Centre at Blackburn College. The former St Augustine’s RC High School Pupil said: “I chose to study at the University Centre at Blackburn College because it is located close to where I live and the competitive tuition fees meant I would save significantly over the course of the degree programme. Since I graduated I have opened my first business – Zucchini in Great Harwood.”

Meanwhile Jodie Dunne achieved a First Class Honours degree in Business Accounting and has got her first graduate role at accounting firm, Beever and Struthers.

Jodie said: “I came to study as a mature student having had a career change and found that I could still work part-time. I found it possible to fit my degree and working part time around having a young family.”

Let it all start for you at an Open Event. Visit www.blackburn.ac.uk/open to confirm you’re coming
