OWN A PIECE OF HISTORY…

Northlight Mill is East Lancashire’s most exciting new residential development, set to transform a famous Grade II listed mill into luxury apartments

Built in 1832, Northlight Mill was a beacon of the Industrial Revolution, employing thousands of workers to sustain Lancashire’s booming cotton trade at its peak.

But how does a building with such grandeur and history find its place in today’s modern world?

Well, a partnership between Pendle Enterprise and Regeneration Limited (PEARL) and Lancashire construction experts Barnfield has come up with the answer.

The partnership believed the building was prime for regeneration, so they hatched an ambitious plan to usher in a new chapter in Northlight’s story by establishing it as a premium address for local residents.

Now construction is well underway on the local landmark, known to many as the Smith and Nephew factory. The first phase of the project will be 36 luxury two-bedroom apartments completed by the end of February 2020.

A spokesperson for the project said: “The main objective of the Northlight development is to regenerate the site while preserving the important architectural features and character of the mill complex, and beginning a successful new chapter with fully functioning buildings that create a new destination for the region.”

However, the good news is, you won’t have to wait to sign up for your own personal piece of Lancashire history, as apartments are available to purchase off-plan right now from £139,950.

The imposing building can be seen clearly from the M65 motorway, with its commanding position offering arresting views of nearby Pendle Hill.

Canalside and street-side options are available to clients, both offering a dramatic vista. Thanks to its status as a new build development, all clients can choose to take advantage of the government’s Help to Buy scheme to assist in their purchase.

The light-filled building will incorporate contemporary interior design to create a unique place where Lancashire’s past meets its future.

With that in mind, apartments are being finished to the highest standard with designer kitchens and bathrooms and superior quality fittings.

Residents will also benefit from a concierge service.

And it’s not just high end home comforts in store for residents who choose to move into the lavish residential development. In fact, the mill complex is set to be turned into a real destination, with a host of other facilities on offer to residents and visitors.

The £4.5 million Leisure Box is Burnley and Pendle’s brand-new community leisure facility, operated by Burnley FC in the Community and now open to the public.

The warehouse section of the former cotton mill has undergone a full transformation into a state-of-the-art leisure centre, with an indoor 4G football pitch, climbing walls, soft play areas, sports hall, cricket nets, dance studio, gym and outdoor 3G football pitch.

The benefits won’t end there for Northlight residents, as they will also enjoy a free 12-month membership to an on-site gym within the apartment building.

Plans are also in place for the complex to include an artisan coffee shop, bar, shops and more.

Northlight Mill stands proudly in a prime location to explore all the Ribble Valley and surrounding areas have to offer, with easy access straight onto the M65 by car and convenient public transport links. In fact, the mill is located directly opposite Brierfield rail station, with a direct service to Preston.

For commuters, Northlight is located just 45 minutes’ drive from Manchester city centre.

Northlight Mill will also feature an on-site business and co-working centre with office space ranging from 100 sq ft to 1000 sq ft, suitable for every kind of business, from start-ups to large corporations.

These contemporary workspaces, designed to ‘inspire collaboration, creativity and a culture of innovation’ will feature a concierge, superfast broadband, free parking, event spaces, designer kitchens, artisan coffee, boardrooms and quiet breakout zones.

A spokesperson said: “Northlight Mill will be more than just a home. It will lay the foundations for a new kind of modern lifestyle for individuals who crave the luxury and convenience of city centre apartment living, yet yearn for the incredible surroundings of the stunning Lancashire countryside.

“So far, interest has been phenomenal with apartments already snapped by a diverse range of residents, from young professionals seeking a place with a real buzz, to retired individuals looking to downsize and have everything they need on their doorstep. We are also seeing huge interest from investors keen to add a prime buy-to-let asset to their portfolio.

“Ultimately, Northlight is about creating a new kind of community and destination which pays tribute to our past while looking forward to an incredibly exciting future.”

With a number of reservations already, before the show apartment is completed, it’s recommended to book a viewing to select your preference.
