PLANET HAPPY

Inspired by David Attenborough, homeware designer Milly Green has launched a fabulous eco-friendly collection of lifestyle products

Milly Green is going green with the launch of a Planet Happy collection of high-quality homeware, giftware and lifestyle products that are lovingly designed using planet-friendly materials.

Featuring fresh, contemporary and colourful designs, Planet Happy products are made from the most sustainable, recycled and recyclable materials currently available. The ‘greener gifting’ collection not only minimises environmental impact, but also gives back to environmental organisations such as One Percent for the Planet, which helps fund diverse environmental organisations so that collectively they can be a more powerful source in solving the world’s problems.

For every purchase of a Planet Happy product, Milly Green pledges to give one per cent of the proceeds to support the work of its chosen partners – the Marine Conservation Society and the Woodland Trust.

Milly Green, Creative Director, said: “The BBC’s Planet Earth II series with Sir David Attenborough gave us the push we needed to totally rethink our products. We’re not saving the world but we’re trying to do our bit for the environment, from the materials we use in our products right through to the point of sale and delivery packaging.”

The Ocean range showcases ocean dwellers who need our help – Hawksbill sea turtle, spiny lobster and Atlantic mackerel – alongside subtle environmental calls to action such as ‘be the change you wish to see in the world’. Products include textiles, hydration and giftware.

The landmark Rainforest design celebrates life-giving trees, pretty parrots, amazing chameleons and the humble frog.

A symbol of patience, wisdom, endurance and luck, the sea turtle is championed in the Turtle design. This stunning watercolour style design captures this animal so beautifully, combined with quotes such as ‘save our oceans’ and ‘say no to plastic’.

Fun and colourful three-piece kids’ dinner sets feature either a blue whale, orangutan, leopard or elephant. Sure to make dinnertime that little bit more exciting, the Endangered Animals sets include a bowl, cup and plate.

Naturally, the safety of children is of huge importance and these sets are non-toxic, BPA free and made with bamboo fibre that is 100 per cent biodegradable.

Materials used in the manufacture of Planet Happy designs include bamboo fibre, corn starch (PLA), 30 per cent recycled ceramic, recycled cotton, recycled craft paper and waste paper, wheat straw, recycled leather fibre and recycled polyester plastic.

Milly Green’s best-known and most popular existing ranges are Debonair Dogs, Curious Cats, London Adventures and Royal. Many of the products within these ranges are also now available as part of the Planet Happy design ethos.

Milly Green is an exciting British brand for luxury lifestyle and high-quality homeware products, which are sold around the world.

Milly explains: “Over the last 12 months the team has focused on the health of the planet, the animals who are endangered and how we can all play our part to help improve this situation in our own small way.”

With fresh, contemporary and colourful designs, combined with quirky and quintessentially British themes, Milly Green continues to create inspiring new product ranges across homeware, gifting, stationery and accessories.
