Known for its collections of fabulous casual wear, Scruples 1984 is also a forerunner in formal wear including their very own prestigious Italian label – Rupert Totti.

Exclusive to the Barrowford store, this fine Italian brand features beautiful craftsmanship and gives customers the opportunity to create something totally unique – from an individual garment to a full outfit.

You can own a bespoke, made-to-measure suit featuring the finest Italian fabric and tailoring, with a four-to-six-week turnaround.

There are more than 750 fabric and lining combinations to choose from, plus design options to really create your bespoke, tailored suit or garments.

“We work very closely with our Italian suppliers,” says store manager Tom Orrell. “We can custom make a suit that is totally unique, featuring the client’s choice of fabric, thread, buttons, pockets, lining and lapels.”

Scruples 1984 is renowned for its exclusivity – it continues to be an industry-leader in terms of its collaborations with European fashion houses. This summer watch out for ETON exclusive shirts in Scruples, which has formed a collaboration with this leading brand to supply the store with a limited number of fabrics to create a collection that can’t be found anywhere else. This ‘Scruples by ETON’ collection promises to be very special!

“It’s a really great opportunity for us,” says Tom, the son-in-law of Scruples’ founder Stephen Collins, who remains at the helm of the Barrowford store.

“We have complete control over the styles from the fit down to the threads. This has allowed us to expand our exclusive collections to include market-leading brand ETON into our offering – which is phenomenal!” says Tom, who is delighted when clients take on board his love of colour.

“We are seeing greens and turquoise being introduced this season,” he says. “For example, the ETON collection features a fabric that has beautiful shades of coral and turquoise – complemented by turquoise buttons, while a caricature-style fabric has a wonderful pop of orange!”

Accessories at Scruples are essential to any outfit – and in the shoe department the Jeffrey West story continues with laid back trainers and more formal brogues and boot brogues. For smart or casual wear, Scruples 1984 has a superb array of fabulous accessories – from leather belts to accessorise a pair of best-selling Tramarossa, super-stretch, soft-touch denim jeans, to silk ties and handkerchiefs to add an eye-catching, addition to a formal suit. These can be vibrant and colourful, or classic to suit any occasion.

“They are so luxurious,” says Tom. “Adding a touch of colour to an outfit adds so much character – at the moment I am wearing a navy jacket but in the pocket I have a white and orange silk handkerchief. It just gives a really good vibe!”

The Scruples ethos is, says Tom: “Wear your personality. Wear the experience. This can be represented in your outfit.”

Scruples also stocks world-leading Italian silk ties by Italo Ferretti – a favourite of former US president Donald Trump.

English brand Loake have launched a leather trainer that can dress an outfit up or down, while shoe manufacturer’ Magnanni and Fratelli Rossetti are looking forward to working alongside Scruples with their sharp Italian styling as we approach the wedding season.
