QUALITY CARE THAT COUNTS

Offering short term care, the experienced team at Abbeyfield are committed to meeting all your needs

Abbeyfield Care Home, Clitheroe, prides its self on offering high quality short term care or respite care for older people who need some extra care and support following illness or an operation. They may need a break while their regular carer takes a well-earned rest, or perhaps you just want to be cared for yourself, have your meals made and relax for a short while in a safe comfortable environment.

At Abbeyfield we recognise that being a full time carer is a demanding role. Short term care offers an opportunity for carers to take a holiday or simply spend some time looking after themselves and spend time doing the things they enjoy with the knowledge and security that their loved one is receiving high quality care at Abbeyfield Care Home.

At Abbeyfield Care Home we have a dedicated team of well-trained care staff who are committed to meeting specialist care needs. They have the training and qualifications to enable them to care and support people living with dementia or other physical frailties and conditions.

Short term care offers an opportunity for an older person to meet new people; have a change of scenery and try out some new experiences or new activities. It can last from a few days to a few weeks or longer if required and can allow a person to sample and experience life in a residential home before they decide if residential care is a long term option for them.

At Abbeyfield Care Home we understand the importance of getting to know all our residents, their preferences, likes and dislikes to enable us to treat people as individuals and in a way which they prefer. With this in mind our experienced manager and senior team carry out a full care assessment, and get to know the person before they arrive for their short term stay.

All rooms are light, airy and are furnished to a high standard and each have their own en-suite facility. We actively encourage residents to bring important personal belongings with them, photographs, a special cushion or ornament, to help them feel at home during their stay. There are no restrictions on visits from family and friends and everyone is welcome to participate in activities and social events within the home.

Abbeyfield is dedicated to providing the best possible care while ensuring a person’s autonomy, privacy and independence is maintained.

Abbeyfield is a not for profit society run by a board of trustees, who are all volunteers.
