Quality, Luxury & Style

With our lives ever changing, a garden room has become the ideal solution and Croft Pods offer a wide range of bespoke options to find your perfect outside space, writes Gail Bailey. Photography: Sarah Valentine

Croft Pods’ story began following the lockdown when Director Samuel Hill and his family were gathered in the garden, chatting in the sunshine: “We were brainstorming ideas about how the family business, Croft Complete Homes, could develop, adapt and emerge from such strange times,” he says.

Together they came up with the concept of ‘garden pods’, to be designed and built to the same quality as Croft Complete Homes products, adding a secondary pod business that would refresh and complement.

“We scribbled, sketched, researched and arrived at the designs and logo – a creative combination of all our ideas,” explains Samuel. “A garden room allows you to work from home, as many people had begun to, but with the added benefit of being away from the distractions of the house.”

Croft Pods is now in its new location at Holden Clough Nurseries, Bolton-by-Bowland: “The association with Holden Clough is perfect for Croft Pods,” explains Samuel.

“Both are long established family businesses with a very similar business ethos and a strong focus on high quality British made products based in the North West.”

Croft Pods delivers bespoke, versatile garden rooms to cater to a wide range of customer needs. The pods are completely customisable and provide the perfect extra space for your business or home. They can be built to any size, with any door combinations from bi-folding to sliding, and can be used for almost anything!

Transform your space to a home office, a gym, cinema, studio, games or hobby room, Airbnb rental space, an extra guest area – even as a library or simply a perfect place to escape for some quiet time.

Enquiries for the ‘hair and beauty’ industry is also on the up.

“This is a great use of the pods, providing privacy, luxury and relaxation, and the perfect work location for a stylist or therapist.” All the units include climate-controlled windows making them even more ideal.

A range of designs are available from Croft Pods but as the service they provide is entirely bespoke to the customer, the team will advise on space, design, door and window combinations as well as cladding colours. The pods are designed with a solution to Lancashire’s harsh weather as a top priority, with the rooms being fitted with full electrics, heating and more than capable levels of insulation: “We take great care that the materials we use to build the pods are environmentally friendly,” Samuel explains: “The cladding we use is made up of 55 per cent wood and 45 per cent recycled HDPE plastic.”

As the pods can be personalised, they are able to be constructed down to the exact millimetre, to fit into any space: “Having a versatile ‘grounds foundation’ system means that pods can be fitted almost anywhere, including a sloping garden or on a hillside,” Samuel further explains.

“We have the heritage and quality of Croft Complete Homes behind us, which has been providing double-glazed windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries for 25 years. This means we have the same suppliers, and the Croft 10-year guarantee to rely on,” Samuel adds.

This long-established guarantee illustrates the quality of the structures, and the confidence Croft Pods have in their product: “We know our garden rooms are structured to the highest standards by fitting teams who are well experienced and have over 40 years’ of individual experience in the industry,” Samuel affirms. “We are confident that we build our structures to the same exacting standards of new build commercial and residential properties in the UK, but with top quality windows and doors.”

Covering the whole of the North West, and also extending across the border into Yorkshire, and beyond, Croft Pods provide garden rooms across a wide catchment area. Customers can visit the website, call the expert team, or visit the showroom, which is idyllically situated by the river at Holden Clough and enjoy a day out in the beautiful Ribble Valley countryside, to discuss their requirements.

“We are more than happy to speak to customers who want to find out more, and have a free, no obligation chat about how one of our Pods could enhance their home, living or working space perfectly,” says Samuel.
