RUGBY ACADEMY

Stonyhurst believes participation in sport is a vital element of a healthy lifestyle, enhancing academic performance and fostering collaboration, concentration, confidence and leadership skills

Stonyhurst is famous for its rugby. The college can boast several international sports people among their alumni, including Joe Ansbro (former Scottish International player), Will Greenwood, Kyran Bracken and Iain Balshaw (England World Cup winners, 2003).

Stonyhurst is launching its first intensive Rugby Course in August 2020 for boys and girls aged 10 to 16 who are looking to improve their rugby skills.

They are also delighted that Joe Ansbro is lending his support to the Academy. Joe believes his time at Stonyhurst as a pupil was pivotal to cultivating his passion for the game and provided him with the skills and experience to launch his professional career.

Led by a Level 3 qualified rugby coach, the focus will be on educating players in key areas of rugby development covering fundamental aspects of skill progression.
