Shop Local
Supporting your local high street often means you get better deals as well as getting expert advice, writes Mike Scothern of Harry Garlick
After Covid, people were desperate to get out and about, sick of being cooped up sitting in front of their laptops – they wanted to visit shops again and talk to real people rather than chat bots! Store owners all had a boom time, but the honeymoon period is now over and retailing is becoming tough once again.
But let me reassure Harry Garlick’s long time loyal customers and potentially new ones, we are still here and still going the extra mile to make sure you are looked after from start to finish. We boast many five-star reviews on Trustpilot, with our average being 4.7/5, and we are striving for that 5/5.
At Harry Garlick we have many experts in their field, who are able to advise you on how best to spend your well-earned cash. We have six members of our team who have been with us over 25 years, and one, over 40 years! These experts are spread over the whole of our business – sales, service and install – the complete beginning to end solution!
Harry Garlick is part of two buying groups, as well as having direct accounts with the biggest manufacturers, such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Hoover and Hotpoint. These relationships mean that we can compete on price with the likes of AO, Currys and John Lewis, and with our 65,000 sq ft warehouse we usually have whatever you need in stock!
So do your research online by all means, but when it comes to purchasing, make sure you visit Harry Garlick where you will get the same price (or sometimes better) as on the internet, but you will also receive expert guidance, with the offer of a personalised installation service as well!
We recently featured on This Morning when Dave (Bank of Dave) Fishwick visited our Padiham store, where we gave him advice for getting the best deals, and at the same time supporting your local stores, a cause very dear to Dave’s heart. He even bought a washing machine for Pendleside Hospice and a toaster for Dermot and Alison!
He was keen to stress how important it is that we all continue to support our local stores. It is these stores that give our towns diversity and character, after all, I’m sure we have enough charity and coffee shops!
