SLEEPING BEAUTIES

There’s a special skill involved in capturing the perfect image of a newborn and this Preston photographer has mastered the art

We all know how quickly babies change in the first few weeks after birth. That precious newborn look doesn’t last long and that’s why newborn photography is becoming more and more popular.

Jo Boulton has been photographing newborn babies for almost 10 years.

Working from her cosy and relaxed studio in Preston, Jo is supremely skilled at settling babies and composing portraits which are cute, often quirky, always eye-catching and certainly individual.

“Some pictures are a little predictable and I like to think that I offer something a bit different,” says Jo. “I have my own way of styling, using some fabulous vintage props, headwear and outfits, so you are guaranteed a photograph as unique as your baby.”

Jo recommends that newborn photographs are taken before babies reach 21 days, as they are still sleepy and naturally curl up into newborn poses.

Having invested in valuable training from leading experts, she knows all the tricks for getting babies to sleep.

Jo, who also does wedding photography, includes sibling pictures and family portraits in her newborn packages and is happy for families to bring along well behaved dogs. You can choose an online gallery or a print package, and Jo is offering a free wooden printed panel with any print package booked quoting this advert.
