COMES TO BARROWFORD
This January sees the launch of Kitchen Design Centre’s flagship showroom in Barrowford, cementing its reputation as one of the North West’s most respected kitchen companies, writes Sarah de Waard. Photography: Mark Tattersall
The Kitchen Design Centre (KDC) is renowned for combining cutting-edge design and the latest trends, whilst bringing the experience and reassurance that comes with having been in business for over three decades.
The successful company now boasts three showrooms, the largest of which will officially open in Barrowford on 2nd January, with an invitation-only Grand Opening event on 20th January.
Located on the vibrant high street, the flagship showroom features six brand new display kitchens and an outstanding in-house team of designers and installation experts. The expansive space showcases the very latest in kitchen ideas, trends and technology that seamlessly marry functionality and design, and includes two live, fully working kitchens so customers can try before they buy.
Showroom Manager Simon Thomas tells me: “We are delighted to be opening our largest showroom to date in Barrowford. It’s a great place to be in business and we have a prominent high-street presence which makes it easy for clients to visit us.”
The premises have taken over a year to fully renovate to KDC’s exacting design standards, with a little help from other local businesses, who were all keen to lend a hand. “Everyone has been interested in what we’ve been doing here, and we have even had Stephen and Jane from Scruples Menswear on board styling a section of our showroom with some of their clothes and accessories! It’s great for local businesses to support and promote each other,” smiles Simon.
“We wanted a showroom that could comfortably accommodate large kitchen displays on a grander scale, so clients can really get a feel for what they will look like in their homes. We also have a relaxed, cosy presentation area, where we can utilise our computer aided design (CAD) system, an impressive piece of technology that gives customers the opportunity to see what their new kitchen will look like in-situ.”
Simon adds: “The visuals we can create from the CAD system are incredible, and can even be personalised with a client’s own accessories. The CAD visuals will be shown on a 50-inch-wide screen in the showroom, where customers can sit with the designers and tweak and move things around until they get their perfect living space.”
KDC is proud to be a Neff Supreme Master partner, and is the flagship company for the world-renowned appliance manufacturer. The Barrowford showroom features the very latest in Neff technology, as well as being a venue for KDC’s regular Neff cookery events.
Every year the team makes a trip to Germany to visit manufacturer Hacker, the globally recognised brand favoured by KDC, and this year was no exception.
The largest independently owned kitchen manufacturer in Germany, Hacker provides the highest quality fitted kitchens in terms of functionality and design. With around 50 new collections on display at the annual showcase event, Kitchen Design Centre had a unique glimpse of the style, textures and colours that will be trending in 2018, many of which have been included in the new showroom.
“We can’t wait for people to see the culmination of all our hard work,” Simon summarises. “It’s been a very busy few years, but we are delighted with the end-product, so we know exactly how our clients feel when they finally get the kitchen of their dreams!”
