Freddie’s in Bank Street, Rawtenstall, has been synonymous with cutting edge style for the last quarter of a century. And now owner Freddie Cunliffe and his team are looking forward to a golden future.

When Freddie opened the salon in November 1992, he never for one second imagined that his vision of a state-of-the-art luxury salon experience in a small Lancashire town would still be going strong 25 years later.

Freddie says: “It is unbelievable, and I am so proud of our achievement. After all, I wouldn’t be here without my team, who have shown me such loyalty and commitment over the years.”

Part of Freddie’s success story is his investment in raw local talent. He prides himself on training all his staff in-house, and educating them on the latest hairdressing techniques, technology and styling.

And his dedication has paid off as many of his staff have been with him since they were juniors.

Hayley Miller has been with Freddie since day one, clocking up 25 years in the salon, whilst Matt Threlfall has been there for 17 years, with Jade Rothwell achieving 16 years, Beth Dickinson 14 years and Nick Wright just celebrating his 10th anniversary at Freddie’s.

Freddie explains: “We have one of the best teams in the business – I am proud to say we have more than 120 years of hairdressing experience in this salon and I am convinced that this is one of the reasons many of our clients have been with us from the very start too.

“They trust that when they walk through the door they are going to get a fantastic service from a stylist they can trust, someone who knows what is going to work for them.”

The team’s dedication and drive to be at the forefront of 21st century hairdressing is clear to see. They have won countless awards, and some of the Freddie’s team have travelled the world honing their skills as part of the Schwarzkopf Professional Young Artistic Training Programme.

But whilst Freddie and his team are flying high in the world of hairdressing, they have their feet firmly on the ground and provide all their customers with a warm welcome as soon as they set foot in the luxurious salon.

The salon also sits at the centre of Rawtenstall’s vibrant and eclectic shopping street, which means clients who travel from far and wide to put their hair in the hands of Freddie’s expert stylists, can also enjoy designer shopping, lunch and drinks in the resurging town.

Freddie says: “Our clients are everything to us – many of them have become like family over the years. But we are always ready to welcome new clients through our door. Whether someone’s style is more classic or they want to try the latest trends, we want to make sure they feel comfortable knowing that we want each of them to look and feel fabulous when they walk out of the salon.

“We want to thank each and every one of them for trusting us with their hair and helping make this business the success it has been for the last 25 years.”
