When the sun comes out, it’s time to sport the most revered of fashion accessories – a stylish pair of shades. At Scruples 1984 there’s a premier collection of sunglasses that is so exclusive that Scruples shoppers have been clambering to get their hands on a pair!

“We are the only independent menswear retailer in the UK to stock Dita eyewear,” says Scruples manager Tom Orrell. “They are really exclusive and this summer, everyone wants a pair! We have a really good relationship with the brand and deal with them direct, so we have a full collection of Dita seasonal specials.”

Scruples 1984 also has a terrific Tom Ford collection of sunglasses and earlier this year introduced their customers to Zegna who design and manufacture stylish shades to seamlessly integrate with the rest of your luxury leisurewear.

Swimwear from Vilebrequin always cuts a dash and Scruples 1984 is one of only a small number of independent stockists: “We buy direct from the brand,” explains Tom, who spotted an eye-catching new design, while shopping in one of Vilebrequin’s flagship stores in New York. “Vilebrequin currently have a collaboration with artist Okuda San Miguel so when I saw them in New York I called and ordered direct from Vilebrequin.”

The colourful Vilbrequin x Okuda San Miguel collection features playful designs and are perfect for having fun in the sun on the beach or at the pool.

Tramarossa has always been a huge name and a best seller for Scruples 1984 and this summer looks set to be a sizzler for the denim brand, which has launched a collection of smart shorts in super-stretch, soft-touch fabric in nine different colourways: “The shorts can be dressed up or down – they are fabulous for weddings abroad and are a great elevation in terms of style,” says Tom, who adds that each pair of Tramarossa shorts can be personalised with your initials.

Onto summer shirts and style is at the forefront with the introduction of new collections from star-brands Eton, Emmanuel Berg and Canali, which has brought out a cool and colourful collection of shirts in seersucker fabric.

Complement the shirts with a lightweight jacket by Pal Zileri, Canali or Rupert Totti, Scruples’ in-house brand, and you have a smart-casual outfit fit for any summer outing.
“Popular colours this season are raspberry, soft blue, orange and pastel mustard,” concludes Tom.
