Terracotta Pots To Grand Gardens
With spring in the air, many of us are looking to step into the new season prepared and ready to enjoy the glory of our outdoor spaces, writes Katie Hammond
When Clive Clark planted the first small seeds of his prestige gardening business back in 2018, the commitment to making every garden he worked on thrive was his driving passion.
Fast forward seven years and he has built a reputation in the Ribble Valley communities he serves as the go-to gardening expert for home-owners looking to maximise the beauty and functionality of their outdoor spaces, regardless of size or budget.
Clive explains: “I’ve had a passion for horticulture for as long as I can remember – I spent every moment possible in my family garden as a child, learning the basics of planting, pruning and caring for all different types of plants and those early experiences definitely built the practical hands-on approach I have today.”
Every change of season brings different gardening challenges, which require a different focus and level of expertise.
Clive continues: “In the spring and summer, we focus on residential garden maintenance, through to commercial ground care to keep gardens looking lush and vibrant. As autumn approaches, we shift the focus to preparing gardens for the colder months, offering services like leaf removal, pruning, lawn aeration, jet washing and fence maintenance to ensure gardens are ready for whatever the weather will throw at us!”
Over the years, Clive has been keen to look after his clients’ best interests and has looked to trusted partners when recommending them for more tailored requirements: “I often work on ongoing projects which can include garden installations such as glass balustrades or decking and pots. I always look to partner with local businesses who have the same kind of approach to customer care as myself, so I’ve recently been working with companies such as Elite Balustrade Services, to enable me to offer the whole package to clients, from glass balustrades to whole new patios and composite decking – no project is too big.
“I’ve also partnered with Chelsea Flower Show award-winning terracotta pot company Vaso Toscano, who supply pots of all sizes.”
Clive is a strong advocate for sustainable practices and encourages clients to adopt an eco-friendlier approach to their gardens to reduce their carbon footprint, including the use of organic fertilisers, installing rainwater collection systems and promoting the use of native plants, which require less water and care.
He concludes: “A garden is more than just an outdoor space and this is more than just a business – it’s a labour of love that reflects my passion for nature and a desire to help others enjoy their own unique spaces. My clients have become friends and that says it all to me.”
