The convenience offered by Gainsborough Flooring’s Home Selection Service is a saviour for many customers who struggle to pop into the showroom during opening hours, as Meena McDonald discovers

Gainsborough’s customers range far and wide and many have been with them for years, some through several generations.

What keeps them coming back is the relationship and trust they have built with the team, who put convenience high on their priority list.

The development of the Home Selection Service has proved a tremendous success. Customers simply call, email or have a video call to explain the type of flooring they are looking for and then the team at Gainsborough take samples to their home at a time that suits the customer.

One customer, a surgeon at the local hospital recently commented: “As much as I wanted to pop into the showroom and see, touch and feel all the different samples, it just wasn’t possible. I couldn’t believe it when Vicky from Gainsborough Flooring suggested they would bring the samples to us to save us the trouble.”

He continued: “The team was so friendly and helpful and they brought such a variety of samples, some we hadn’t even considered initially. They were then kind enough to leave the samples with us for a couple of weeks so we could get a real feel for them and match them to paintwork/wallpaper before we made our purchase. It’s such a valuable service which we’re so grateful for.”

One of the beauties of Gainsborough’s Home Selection Service is that customers can view the floor in the actual room it will be installed in, not just in the showroom or on a screen visualiser. This enables them to see it in natural light, artificial lighting and alongside their furnishings.

The service certainly proved useful to customers early this year when we were hit with snow and ice and the Gainsborough trucks were able to take samples to people’s homes.
