THE MOST WONDERFUL

TIME OF THE YEAR…

Whether it’s an office party, a family get-together or a festive girls’ night out, the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel is the perfect venue for your seasonal celebrations, writes Kate Ford

There’s nothing quite like Christmas. Glistening roast turkey with all the trimmings, tree lights twinkling and a bunch of happy people seated around the table enjoying themselves. With a friendly, professional team looking after you, and someone to do the washing up, it sounds even better!

That’s the joy of going out for your Christmas lunch, office party or New Year’s Eve celebration. And, if you choose the Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh Hotel for your festivities, you’re also benefiting from years’ of experience in making events go just the way you want them to.

The setting is, of course, perfect. The 700-year old Dunkenhalgh Hotel is surrounded by beautiful Lancashire countryside and there are fabulous views from almost every window. Inside, the hotel’s traditional features are complemented by stylish décor and tasteful furnishings. A grand, double staircase sits beneath a stunning, domed window and, once the Christmas trees are decorated and lit, it will be perfect for celebrating the festive season.

“Christmas is such an important time of year for us,” says Sales Manager, Charlotte Lavelle. “But, more importantly, we know how special it is for all our guests and visitors, and the team here work really hard to make sure everyone has their perfect day or night out.”

The party season starts on the 23rd November when the hotel’s Christmas party nights start. These are perfect for an office party or festive night out with friends because, however large or small your group, the Dunkenhalgh can look after you. The main party nights take place in the hotel’s Pendle Suite, with three-course dinner and lively entertainment until the early hours.

If you fancy a more private affair, the hotel has some beautiful rooms where you can enjoy a more peaceful and intimate occasion, just call and ask for details.

When it comes to Christmas Day, the Dunkenhalgh offers Christmas Lunch for families with children in the Pendle Suite, with four delicious courses and plenty to keep the little ones entertained. Others might prefer the Gourmet Christmas Day Lunch in the Cameo Restaurant, where a Bucks Fizz reception precedes a sumptuous five-course feast.

Similarly, on New Year’s Eve, there’s a family celebration in the restaurant, with Champagne reception, mocktails for the children, three-course buffet and disco. Meanwhile, in the Pendle Suite, the stylish, adults-only, Black Tie Ball offers a Champagne reception and five-course dinner followed by entertainment and a disco. A Christmas Eve Dinner, Boxing Day Lunch and Festive Afternoon Teas provide additional opportunities for celebrating with family and friends during December.

Whichever occasion you choose, you’ll enjoy first class service in stylish but welcoming surroundings, where you can truly relax and enjoy yourselves. You’ll feel like all your Christmases have come at once.
