The Perfect Gift This Christmas

Longridge shoppers continue to support a long-established local jewellery shop that features unique collections of hand-picked gems, watches and gifts

Since being taken over last year by David Birtles and his wife Michelle, Longridge Goldsmiths remains very much a family business.

With many years’ experience, David who lives on the outskirts of Longridge, is delighted to be at the helm of the well-respected local jewellers, having owned a jewellery shop in Kendal for more than 30 years.

With customers at the heart of Longridge Goldsmiths, there has been a drive to acquire high quality stock in terms of diamonds and precious gems, while also favouring smaller UK-based jewellery manufacturers as opposed to mass produced.

Situated on Berry Lane, you will find diamonds of the highest quality, gold and silver jewellery, watches, clocks and gifts. Also featuring names such as Kit Heath, Jools silver collections and branded watches by Citizen, Sekonda and GMT, Longridge Goldsmiths is the perfect place to find a unique Christmas gift for a loved one or friend.

“It is great to see so many shoppers supporting us and other local businesses. We have been made very welcome here in Longridge” says David. “It is a wonderful, friendly community and we would like to thank all our customers especially during these difficult times.”

David and Michelle are joined by a loyal team, Debbie Luisi, who has worked for David in Kendal for almost three decades and has moved to Longridge to be closer to the new venture, and Susan Lothian, who also worked in Kendal for six years and travels from Carnforth.

“We love Longridge! It is a lovely, friendly community,” agree Debbie and Susan.

Jewellery re-designs and repairs continue to be kept in-house with David’s brother having a workshop in Leeds.

Longridge Goldsmiths will also part-exchange and buy old gold for cash.

So, if it’s a beautiful gift bought as a token of love at Christmas or a classic piece to mark a special day, be assured that you will be guided by a friendly and knowledgeable team, so the giving is just as nice as the receiving.

Call into the shop and meet David and the team, they will be delighted to see you and show you their beautiful collection of jewellery and gifts.
