With people now coming from across the country and even from abroad, the Ribble Valley is fast becoming one of the most desirable locations for weddings in England

The Ribble Valley is renowned for its outstanding hospitality and wonderful food offering, which combined with a vast array of visitor accommodation ensures that wedding guests are made most welcome.

Ribble Valley Council’s Tourism and Events Officer Tom Pridmore said: “We have a variety of unique different wedding venues ranging from castles to abbeys, country houses to barns. Each of which has a slightly different and unique offering, there is certainly something for everyone.”

From flowers to musicians, the area is home to a whole range of innovative and creative wedding suppliers who can help make your day totally unique. Enjoy visiting the wedding fairs in the area with professionals on hand to help you plan the day you have always dreamed of.

In the Ribble Valley a Partnership has been created, comprising licenced wedding venues and suppliers, to develop a brand based on a reputation of ‘the perfect place to get married’. It is believed to be the first of its kind in the UK, where venues work together with the local authority, and such collaborative working means better service for customers coming into the area.

“Weddings have become a powerful tool in stimulating the visitor economy as they not only provide a significant number of first time visitors to stay in the area, but evidence also suggests that many such visits are converting to repeat visits. Having enjoyed their time, experiencing the fantastic hospitality, great countryside and amazing dining experiences, wedding guests are often returning for independent holidays,” said Tom Pridmore.

One of the partner venues is Gibbon Bridge Hotel and owner Janet Simpson said: “It has been exciting and rewarding to be involved with Ribble Valley Heaven from the start. We are particularly enjoying working with others from within the wedding industry in promoting not only our own venue but others and highlighting everything that the Ribble Valley has to offer.”

Wendy Hope, of Stanley House Hotel and Spa, added: “Here in the Ribble Valley, not only is there a stunning range of beautiful wedding venues, but also experienced people dedicated to ensuring that every wedding is memorable and unique.”

The spectacular area provides an incredible range of stunning backdrops for any wedding day. By choosing the Ribble Valley to host your special day you are already half way to creating the most magical day!
