Freddie’s stylists are the best in the business. With a string of prestigious awards under their belts, and more than 130 years’ experience between them, they have been producing the best in cutting edge styles for 27 years.
But even those creatives at the top of their game need to get their inspiration from somewhere – and that means bringing in the finest international talent the hairdressing industry has to offer.

Colour guru Jack Howard has travelled the globe providing specialist training to the world’s top stylists in the art of balayage.

Hair colour trends come and go, but at the moment balayage is the buzz-word everyone is talking about.

It is a free-hand colouring technique developed in France in the 1970s, where colour is painted onto the hair to give it a more natural look.

The technique has evolved over the years, with colour experts like Jack taking it to the next level.

Jack’s work has featured in the likes of Vogue, Tatler, Harpers and the Evening Standard and his clients include A-list stars such as Poppy Delevingne, Suki Waterhouse, Abbey Clancy and Gillian Anderson.

He brought his expertise to Freddie’s in Rossendale to give the stylists an insight into his incredible work, giving one-to-one training in the latest cutting edge techniques.

Salon owner Freddie Cunliffe said: “My stylists are no strangers to giving seminars and shows themselves, but that doesn’t mean they can’t also benefit from someone else’s vision and expertise.”

“And Jack Howard is the very best of the best. Having him in the salon working hands-on with our staff and models was an invaluable experience. Being able to ask Jack questions, and get him to advise on their work as they did it – live in the salon – was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and one that means our stylists can now pass on what they have learned to our loyal clients.”

“Just because we have won awards and have years of experience doesn’t mean we haven’t got anything else to learn.”

“At Freddie’s we are committed to providing our staff with the best training so that they are consistently at the top of their game and can give our clients the latest hairdressing techniques from around the world.”

“Everyone from the senior stylists right down to the juniors starting out on their hairdressing careers got to spend time with Jack and learn from the colour master.”

“We are already seeing the benefits of his experience being passed on to our clients with some stunning colour transformations.”
