Top Class Sport Top Class Venue

With a simple ethos of providing high end sport at a fabulous venue, Northcote Stud continues to be the North of England’s premier home for top class events, writes Gail Bailey

Lots of people have been to a day at the races but less have experienced the thrill of watching top class show jumping – and in the Ribble Valley we are lucky to have the North West’s home for key events right here on our doorstep!

“Show jumping is great entertainment,” says Managing Director and experienced equestrian Emily Whiteside of Northcote Stud. “All our events are free to the public and are a great day out for the whole family.”

Having recently held their first ever Northcote International Event attracting athletes from 10 nations, and with over £50K of prize money on the table, the atmosphere was electric: “We welcome spectators to all our events,” Emily says. “In addition to watching leading athletes we have a marquee, street food vendors and a fully stocked bar – and centred around our Indoor Championship Arena is our recently opened Bridle Café with a wide range of wonderful meals and a ‘grab-and-go’ option for those in a rush!”

It isn’t just about experiencing the sport and hospitality during the day – during the multi-day events the bars are open Friday and Saturday evenings with a DJ and live singer.

“It isn’t just a day out and the opportunity to watch high end show jumping – it’s a fun night out too,” Emily adds.

The next upcoming event is the Young Horse Show running from the 31st May to 5th June and along with the opportunity to watch world class riders, and experience the thrill of the event, there will be first class food available too.

“We have a great relationship with Northcote hotel and executive chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen,” explains Emily. “We will be offering her mouth-watering gourmet burger at the event as she has kindly offered to share her secret recipe and technique with our chef here at the Bridle Café – we can’t wait!”

Northcote hotel has also sponsored a class and are offering a fabulous raffle prize of a one-night stay for two people and lunch for four: “Sponsoring a class at any of our events is a wonderful opportunity for local and national businesses. We look forward to hearing from anyone interested – just get in touch and we will show you the fantastic facilities we have, and the different ways you can be involved,” says Emily.

With so much going on and great entertainment to enjoy, visit Northcote Stud’s website and social media for further information and to make sure you don’t miss any of the upcoming events.
