Truly Unique

In the run up to Christmas, Longridge Gallery is enjoying its busiest time of year

While some companies might be thinking Christmas parties, getting annual leave used up and who has who for Secret Santa, Longridge Gallery is well into its busiest time of the year.

“We have been taking Christmas orders for a while now,” explains owner Nick Smith, who took over the family business earlier this year.

“We have customers wanting us to source specific pieces of art, and others bringing framing in early to ensure it is completed for a Christmas gift.”

Working with a combination of some of the UK’s most collectable artists and top local talent, it is no surprise the gallery has been inundated with requests recently. Local artists including Steven Townsend, Geoff Rollinson, Steve Rostron, Ricky Young and Veronica Gornall continue to be incredibly popular at the gallery.

“With winter releases from the biggest names in the British art market including Doug Hyde, Leigh Lambert and Mackenzie Thorpe due soon, contact the gallery earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment,” says Nick.

Since reopening after the lockdowns of the last 20 months, the gallery has seen a real increase in new customers. “People have really seen the benefit of having pieces professionally framed since we have been able to reopen. It transforms a magical memory or moment into a lasting feature or talking point in their homes.”

Alongside fine art and picture framing, the gallery also offers other services. From stretching needle works, framing sports shirts and restoring art to framing uniquely bespoke pieces – the gallery offers it all.

As the hours of light in the day decrease, it appears the hours the gallery is open will be increasing. “We will undoubtedly be open longer hours in the run into Christmas, to ensure we are able to get all of our customers work completed for that perfect gift.”

The gallery has already confirmed it will be open late Thursday 25th November for Longridge Does Christmas, along with a number of other stores along Berry Lane. “Keep an eye on our social media for updated gallery opening times and to catch a first look at new artwork,” concludes Nick.
