Owner Katie Walsh set up her luxury travel agency, Luxury Escapes by Katie Walsh, three years ago and always knew she wanted to base the business in Whalley.
“When this lovely shop on King Street came up I knew I had to take the plunge and I’ve been so pleased with how welcoming the people and businesses of Whalley have been, with lovely comments about what a nice addition to the village we are,” Katie says.
The shop is certainly a beautiful, relaxed setting to begin planning your dream holiday.
Katie specialises in tailor made bespoke luxury holidays and cruises to all destinations around the world and her specialist areas of expertise lie in Dubai and Arabia, the Indian Ocean, the Caribbean, the USA, especially Florida, and the Far East. Katie has travelled extensively to Dubai, Mauritius, the Maldives, the Caribbean and many different parts of the USA, from city breaks such as New York to the fun filled theme parks of Orlando, as well as the Far East and Asia and many destinations within Europe to name just a few.
She is clearly passionate about travel and loves to share her knowledge and experience with her clients.
“It’s easy to get lost in all the options when looking on the internet, it’s so useful to get advice so you know exactly where to go and what to do, and I think that’s why there has been such a resurgence in people wanting to use a travel agent,” Katie explains.
“Your holidays are so important, you work hard for them and want everything to be perfect, and that’s where I can help.”
Katie has been skiing abroad for the last 15 years and loves to advise on the best areas to ski and the different products available. She is also a self-confessed Disney enthusiast and is very well-placed to talk clients through the maze of options available, from the best accommodation to the must-visits and the opportunities to combine a beach break.
Cruises are another speciality and Luxury Escapes can advise on which cruises would be best for a family or a couple in terms of entertainment, excursions and that extra insider knowledge.
“There are so many choices, we love to advise customers, using our knowledge and experience to find them the perfect holiday.”
