Walking into Sara Dewhurst’s consultation room it is clear to see why her client feedback is so positive. The room immediately makes you want to sit, relax and reflect on life, and with Sara guiding you through it’s the perfect way to find the positive reinforcement you need to make healthy lifestyle changes, and really live the life you want and need.
The Well Nest, based at PLM Health and Fitness in Whalley, supports many of the issues we may all feel from time-to-time. Some of these include work pressure, less time for ourselves, relationship issues, loneliness, rising expectations of what life should be about, or we simply feel we have lost focus and feel tired and unhealthy.
“It is important to me that I work with clients to provide an integrated approach which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness, goal setting and person-centred counselling,” says Sara.
“Life is very busy and challenging for many of us, and the work I do helps people to change their mind-set to a more positive one, voice their thoughts, explore their worries and reset what is important to them.”
As a health psychologist in training and with a wealth of experience in mental health, psychology and counselling, Sara offers a variety of services to help clients achieve healthier bodies and minds.
PLM Health and Fitness is the perfect environment to base Sara’s services and for her to support clients to live the healthiest lives they can. She also offers a ‘gym buddying’ service for those who lack the confidence to initially enter a gym: “The benefits of having a gym buddy are many, and include increased levels of motivation, becoming more confident and being able to try new workouts,” says Sara.
The Well Nest is also able to offer support in the work-place on a 1-2-1 basis and with so many days being lost a year to work-related stress this is a much-needed service.
The Well Nest philosophy is to reach out to people everywhere, and Sara also offers an online service: “If you feel like you’re stuck in a rut and unable to make that change, we can help. Or if you feel low or stressed, that’s what we’re here for,” she explains.
PLM Health and Fitness offers a unique Wellness Membership which includes four personal training sessions and four wellbeing sessions per year, along with monthly training reviews, one guest pass per month and two classes per week. This innovative approach means clients have the positive reinforcement from Sara often needed to make healthy lifestyle changes.
As 21st Century life takes its toll and with recent statistics from mind.org showing that currently one in four of us will experience a mental health problem each year, Sara’s services at The Well Nest are the perfect antidote.
