What To Wear At A Wedding

Let’s face it we all love a good wedding. The excitement of initially being invited, choosing the happy couple’s wedding present and then the most important part, what to wear! Writes Tracy Hargreaves

For men, choosing an outfit for a wedding is relatively simple, but ladies can agonize for months. What season is the wedding in, what type of wedding is it, casual, luxurious, quirky? Daytime or evening and what entertainment will there be?

Dancing the night away in your highest pair of Jimmy Choo’s may not be the best idea if you want to steer clear of blisters for the next few days. And then, of course, there’s making sure you don’t upstage the bride, otherwise you could find yourself uninvited.

The main thing to remember is to dress appropriately. There’s usually a wide age range at weddings from the elderly down to young toddlers so don’t go in a dress showing off your cleavage or a skirt that’s too short. A simple lace dress can look classy and stunning. Jumpsuits are incredibly stylish and can be dressed up or down with matching accessories.

Try to avoid all black and all white. You’re not at a funeral and it’s not your wedding and don’t dress as if you’re in for a night in front of the TV in your loungewear. It might be comfy but it will look like you’ve not made an effort.

So, follow a few simple rules and you can still make a statement without stealing the show.
