Wintertime: Good Food & Wine
With new additions on the lunch and supper menus, as we head towards December, the Freemasons at Wiswell has prepared a party menu that is sure to please, writes Kate Bowyer
November heralds the start of long, cold, dark winter nights, and in the months ahead country pubs like the Freemasons come into their own. Roaring log fires and a warm welcome awaits guests from both near and far, but what sets the Freemasons apart from the competition is the extraordinary award-winning food, combined with the perfect atmosphere and country vibe.
Throughout November, the inclusive winter menu for both lunch and dinner create options for every appetite and budget. The ever-popular early supper and lunch menus have some delightful new additions and for those wanting to sample the essence of the team’s culinary style, the private dining tasting menu is a must. You’ll receive the incredible standard of service you’ve come to expect from the Freemasons, as well as the finest wines, paired specifically to complement your chosen dishes.
December sees the move to full-on Christmas mode, with a carefully prepared party menu to entertain friends, family and clients between 2nd December and 22nd, where a six-course meal is just £47.50.
Although Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are already sold out (testament to the Freemasons and chef Matt Smith’s popularity) there’s still plenty of availability throughout December and into the New Year.
For those wanting a New Year celebration with a difference – there’s a choice of options.
On New Years’ Eve, lunch is served at 1pm and is a scrumptious six courses for £55 per person, and the evening’s extra special seven-course meal, served at 7pm is £70. On New Years’ Day itself, there’s a special four-course lunch on offer, served between 12 noon and 3pm and the price is £60 per person.
The full programme is available to browse and book via the website.
