Women Put Their Foot Down

The LANX shoe-making mantra ‘for the boardroom to the bar’ is now extended to women, who have demanded the brand create an all-female collection, now available online and at their style-driven warehouse shop in Whalley

When Whalley-based shoe brand LANX launched three years ago, following an extensive marketing campaign, the brand gained a nationwide loyal following with its diverse collection of men’s ‘proper shoes’.

With a local warehouse store, busy events schedule and international online presence, women soon became aware of the innovative LANX brand and it wasn’t long before their rapidly growing audience of female followers demanded their own collection, as LANX founder Marco Vaghetti explains: “As we’ve developed our brand and carved out a space in the men’s footwear market we’ve attracted an incredible following from women.

“They wanted to wear our existing styles, however the men’s sizing was proving an issue. So, the message was loud and clear – we needed to create similar shoes with a female-specific fit.”

Following 18-months of in-house design and research, working closely with leading local female creatives, including designer and model, Lily Kate, LANX launched their women’s collection at the beginning of July this year and within just six weeks sold out!

Swift off the mark, LANX were able to re-make the collection – now back available in-store and online – including their best-selling leather boot styles named Whalley and Langho.

“Many styles sold out within the first six weeks,” recalls Marco. “A lot of research went into the making of our women’s shoes and boots, which incorporate LANX’s unique design DNA. While they give a nod to our existing men’s designs, they are a true women’s fit and there are different designs and colourways. They are proving incredibly popular.”

Lancashire-based model Lily, who has had an input into the new collection, says: “I actually bought a pair of LANX men’s shoes a while back and have been encouraging them to develop a dedicated women’s range ever since.

“I’ve been ‘road-testing’ a pair of their new women’s Whalley hiker style boots for a few months now and they are faultless! Contributing to the transformation of LANX becoming a brand for both men and women has been a really exciting process for me.”

The new LANX women’s collection features 21 different styles of shoes and boots in a diverse range of quality leather and colourways.

Starting from £155 for the Harwood loafers to the Dinckley toe-cap boots at £190, the women’s collection, all named after local towns and villages, is available at the impressive LANX warehouse shop on Mitton Road Business Park (no appointment necessary), or online at lanxshoes.com. LANX can also be found exhibiting at various festivals, shows and pop-up events around the UK.
