After its recent win at the Ribble Valley Business Awards, where it claimed the prestigious title of Best New Business in the Ribble Valley 2018, RejuvaMed is expanding its offering in Clitheroe in 2019 to include several new specialists.

Experienced local GP Dr Helen McKeating has joined the team, specialising in women’s health and gynaecology, and providing clinical solutions for a wide range of female health issues.

Dr Helen explains: “Many women experience potentially embarrassing and inconvenient ‘waterworks’ symptoms, which include what we call stress or urge incontinence. This means they have ‘oops!’ moments when coughing, laughing or sneezing, or need to suddenly rush to the toilet. It is thought that up to 60 per cent of women experience such symptoms. There is often limited help that can be offered for such problems by the NHS. Patients may be offered physiotherapy with pelvic floor exercises at one end of the treatment spectrum, or major surgery at the other, but there is little available in-between. Often women are ashamed and afraid to seek medical care. But now RejuvaMed offers a new high-tech treatment which can quickly help solve those problems.

“The clinic has introduced the 3D-Vjuve, which is the latest addition to 3D’s range of laser systems. Many of our patients will be familiar with the 3D-Lipo brand, which has established itself in the field of non-invasive body sculpting. The 3D Vjuve offers an exciting new vaginal tightening treatment, working in a minimally invasive way to manage a range of post-childbirth and peri-menopausal issues, from incontinence to vaginal atrophy (thinning and inflammation of the vaginal wall) and dryness. It can also improve sexual function.”

After an initial consultation to assess suitability, Dr Helen uses the 3D Vjuve to treat these embarrassing and often limiting conditions in a fast, painless and highly effective way, with little or no downtime.

The 3D-Vjuve CO2 laser delivers painless superficial energy, creating tiny dots of damaged tissue on the inside of the vaginal canal. The resulting healing response stimulates new collagen production improving the thickness of the vaginal lining. In addition to vaginal tightening the Vjuve can also be used for rejuvenation and skin resurfacing.

After an initial consultation, three treatments are recommended approximately four weeks apart for effective improvement in symptoms.

A consultation with Dr Helen is £50, with each subsequent treatment priced at £500, or just £1300 for the recommended course of three sessions.

RejuvaMed will also offer bio-identical HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy), a tailored and effective alternative to current NHS HRT treatments, from April, and new slimming clinic services are planned from May.
