ON STAGE

The Preston Guild is the place to go for lots of events and shows for all the family

Ukulele Orchestra
Sunday 12th November
The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain is a group of all singing, all strumming ukulele players using instruments bought with loose change, which believes that all genres of music are available for reinterpretation, as long as they are played on the ukulele.
This concert is a funny, twanging and foot-stomping obituary of rock and roll and light entertainment. Using instruments small and large the orchestra uses the limitations of the instrument to create a musical freedom. There are no drums, pianos, backing tracks or banjos only an astonishing revelation of the rich palette or orchestration afforded by ukuleles and singing (and a bit of whistling). For an evening with a difference, this is well worth booking.
Prices from £26.50

The Nutcracker
Monday 13th November
If you’re not tempted by a ukulele, then a visit to the Nutcracker might be more your scene. The Russian State Ballet and Opera House presents The Nutcracker.
A timeless classic and a breath taking and enchanting ballet production, which will be a feast for the eyes and delight the whole family. Music is by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky and features a live orchestra with more than 30 musicians.
Prices from £31.00
