FESTIVITIES IN WHALLEY

Christmas in Whalley is set to be a magical time and will be launched with a long weekend of festive shopping and promotions and a new-look Whalley Pickwick!

Visit Whalley on Friday 29th November and you will be there at the start of an extended weekend of festive fun featuring special promotions and offers in many of the independent businesses and boutiques, tastings, Christmas markets, a craft fair and not forgetting the return of the new-look Whalley Pickwick!

The festive Whalley Weekend for shops and businesses in the village kicks off on Friday when there will be a raffle, offers and goodies throughout the weekend up to and including Monday.

Also on the same weekend is a Christmas Market at Oakhill School on Saturday 30th November from 11am to 4pm.

And, on Sunday is the new-style not-to-be-missed Whalley Pickwick! The event will be held on Sunday 1st December with events starting from 10am up until 5pm when there will be a carol service.

The re-launch of this three-decade old event aims to make Whalley Pickwick a family-friendly event and bring the core values back, offering greater opportunities for local shops and businesses over an extended period. There will be no troublesome road closures this year to accommodate the event so the village will be totally accessible to everyone.

There will be a Whalley Pickwick Craft fair in the Village Hall and a traditional Christmas Market on the Co-Op car park in the heart of the village, by kind permission of the Co-Op.

Events will also be held at Whalley School, Salvage House tucked away on Back King Street, Whalley Old Grammar School, Whalley Methodist Church, Whalley Parish Church with the majority of shops in Whalley being open for business!

Whalley Pickwick will also feature entertainment and various attractions – so put a date in your diary and visit wonderful Whalley in the run-up to Christmas!
