Leading The Way In Aesthetics:

A Responsible And Ethical Approach

Dr Grant McKeating explains why RejuvaMed Health and Wellness, rated GOOD by the CQC, operates differently to many other clinics and practitioners

As the demand for aesthetic treatments continues to rise, consultant Dr Grant McKeating, Medical Director at RejuvaMed Health and Wellness, is proud to take a stand against unnecessary, ineffective and often unsafe cosmetic treatments. He insists on putting the patient, and what is best for them, first.

Many medical and non-medical practitioners are cashing in on the ‘Love Island’ trend for excessive and inappropriate treatments, particularly in younger people. He explains: “Someone in their 20’s doesn’t need to spend thousands on wrinkle relaxants and dermal fillers. When I see clinics proudly showing images of excessive treatment like this, I really do question the ethics of the practitioner involved.”

Dr Grant won’t bow to this ‘conveyor belt’ approach that takes advantage of younger patients and their quest for perfection, often fuelled by social media. He believes that aesthetic medicine is all about managing the effects of genuine ageing and the confidence issues that can accompany these, in a responsible and appropriate way.

“Expertly assessing a patient and addressing their concerns about ageing is far more important than taking someone’s money and selling them a treatment that isn’t necessary or could be unsafe. Our treatment plans aim to make patients feel great about themselves. Results must be natural and in-line with their expectations.”

To ensure the very best outcomes, Dr Grant offers one-to-one in-depth 30-minute consultations with patients prior to any treatments being undertaken, where he listens to their concerns and discusses the best treatment course with them. Patients are given time to consider the options, and are never pressurised into same day procedures, as happens at many other clinics.

Sometimes facial injections may not be appropriate and Dr Grant may recommend other treatments, such as Morpheus 8, instead. This is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation procedure that can achieve remarkable results in lifting and tightening loose skin.

RejuvaMed has many returning patients who are delighted with the treatment and care Dr Grant and his team provide. He oftens sees patients who have had a poor experience elsewhere. He advises: “Always visit a qualified medical professional. Unregistered non-medical practitioners may have no training, no insurance and there is no comeback if a treatment goes wrong.”

Varicose Vein Centre
The clinic’s ethical approach is also very relevant if you are looking for treatment of varicose veins. Dr Grant says: “You must see a consultant vascular surgeon who will scan your legs using an ultrasound system before recommending treatment. Beware of any clinic that offers to inject varicose veins without a scan, or where the injector is not a vascular surgeon. Things could go badly wrong.”
