The Coniston Hotel and its grounds form part of the Coniston Estate, which has been home to the Bannister family for more than 40 years. This summer will see the building of a 16,500ft2 spa offering members and hotel guests stunning views over the estate’s 24-acre lake and the wider Yorkshire Dales countryside when it opens in the autumn.
On launching the spa development, Michael Bannister, Chairman of The Coniston Hotel, said: “It’s going to be an exciting year for all involved in the development of the spa and the hotel.”
Spa memberships are now available to individuals, couples and children.
The spa is expected to create at least 35 new jobs for the local market, and its facilities will include a 15m indoor swimming pool, thermal suite, gym, dance studio, spa treatments, relaxation and dining area, and an outdoor spa pool and terrace.

On the wider Coniston Estate, guests and non-residents can take part in a wide range of countryside activities clay shooting (CPSA Premier Plus ), 4×4 off road driving experience, archery, falconry, fishing, estate walks and many different cycling trails.
