PUKKA PICNICS & BRILLIANT BARBECUES!

There’s nothing feels more like summer than eating outdoors whether that’s sophisticated and continental in your garden, packing up the perfect picnic or sizzling something tasty on the grill

There’s something fresh and fun eating al fresco with a picnic in the countryside or enjoying a barbecue at home with family and friends.

And, when it comes to sourcing the very best local produce, Bowland Food Hall in the heart of Clitheroe, has everything from the best succulent steaks and sausages to the tastiest artisan cheeses and breads.

This one-stop food emporium, based in the Holmes Mill complex, is the answer to all your al fresco dining food choices.

Hand pick your fresh vegetables from the authentic vintage French van that welcomes visitors to the food hall. Make your way to the butcher’s counter where the expert Butcher Boys Callum Gillies and Joe Diver will carve any cut of meat and give you tips on how to cook or barbecue it.

And don’t forget barbecues are not just about bangers and burgers!

While the boys have some fantastically flavoursome local pork sausages to make your summer sizzle, they have created two great-value barbecue packs featuring meaty favourites plus a few new choices.

The food hall shelves are also stacked with sauces and marinades with Helmshore offering a wide range of relishes as well as Atkins and Potts, who take care of the marinades.

At Bowland Food Hall you’ll find perfectly transportable treats from interesting salads made fresh on site and award-winning pies from suppliers like Roy Porters and Upper Crust. As well as fresh artisan bread from All You Knead Bakery, local pates from Patchwork Pate Company, cheeses from local Leagrams Dairy and Holmes Made cakes.

Not forgetting a bottle of your favourite tipple from local distiller Cuckoo or wine from Byrnes!

Food hall manager and expert ‘food-finder’ Alison Ashworth, who helped source much of the produce says: “Food lovers visiting Holmes Mill can get everything they need here – and it’s all hand-picked, locally sourced produce so the quality really shines.

“When people are planning a family picnic or a barbecue, it makes a difference to be able to find great-tasting ingredients and there’s usually an interesting local story behind them! The team at Bowland Food Hall are really knowledgeable about what we have here, and you will find tasters throughout the store – a great way to try something new and perhaps discover a new favourite.”
