Royal Seal Of Approval

A seasonal gift from the Ribble Valley Gin Company will make this a very merry Christmas for a loved one

Four very distinctive gins are now coming out of the multi-award winning Ribble Valley Gin distillery – and they make great gifts in their own right or why not go for a gin hamper, a trio of gins or a gift voucher?

Founders Luke and Justine Moyes developed their first signature Little Lane Gin just over a year ago and more recently they launched Kingsman Gin, made exclusively for the Duke of Lancaster’s regiment and also enjoyed by the Queen, who is Colonel in Chief of the regiment.

Following a request from Buckingham Palace, she was sent a bottle of Kingsman, which is a zesty gin, developed using botanicals that grew on the battlefields. Proceeds from the sale of Kingsman go to the regimental charity that helps serving soldiers and their families as well as veterans – so Kingsman makes a lovely, thoughtful Christmas gift.

The Ribble Valley Gin distillery has won one award after another, including a Gold at the World Gin Awards, Silver and Bronze at the London Spirits Competition, the Best Small Batch Gin Distillery at the Luxe Life Food and Drink Awards as well as two Great Taste Awards for their seasonal gins, Garden Party and Winter’s Night.

More recently they have developed Country Market, a vegetable-based gin, that’s savoury and ultimately refreshing.

Using spring water from a local supplier in the Forest of Bowland, Ribble Valley Gin’s original Little Lane Gin features botanicals that can be found in the English countryside, resulting in a deliciously earthy hedgerow flavour.

All the craft gins that come out of the micro-distillery are super-smooth, thanks to the vapour infusion method used: “This method makes for a really clean taste and flavours that you can identify,” adds Luke.

With Christmas on the horizon Ribble Valley Gin has a number of great gift ideas including a trio of 25cl bottles of Little Lane, Garden Party and Winter’s Night gins, a mix and match duo of gins with branded, speakeasy-style glassware and mix and match hampers with Christmas cards designed by a local artist, glassware, vegan truffles by local firm Ko-co Brownies, specialist tonics and garnishes and a cocktail book using signature gins.

“For ease customers can choose what they would like to include in a gift hamper, we will pack it and send it direct,” says Justine.

“If people can’t decide on a gift then we also have vouchers for any amount.”

Local stockists and suppliers of Ribble Valley Gin’s products include 10 Lancashire-based Booths stores, Bowland Food Hall and Byrnes, while UK-wide stockists can be found on Ribble Valley Gin’s website.
