SIMPLY THE BEST

If you dream of playing the best golf courses in the world, you may just be able to fulfil your fantasies at Lancashire’s unique new leisure venue

On the A6 between Preston and Garstang, you’ll find the Flower Bowl, a unique leisure venue offering an exciting mix of facilities including an all-weather crazy golf course, two golf simulators, ten pin bowling, a cinema and, surprisingly, a curling rink.

An eye-catchingly stylish building, with its main foyer inspired by the luxurious Wynn Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, the Flower Bowl is the latest business venture of the multi award-winning Barton Grange Group of companies. The commitment to delivering the very best shines through every element of the venue and, for golf enthusiasts, there are some very special treats in store.

The two state-of-the-art golf simulators are supplied by one of the world’s leading manufacturers, HD Golf. Lauded by the likes of Bubba Watson, Fred Couples and Louis Oosthuizen, the simulators are renowned for their breath-taking realism and ball-flight accuracy. Offering a virtual experience of some of the world’s best courses, they guarantee exhilarating indoor entertainment and can also help you to improve your skills.

Choose from 28 courses including the famous Pebble Beach, the Old Course at St Andrews, Cabot Links, Canada’s Banff Springs and the dramatic, ocean-side Cabo del Sol in Mexico. Each simulator can accommodate up to four people and will deliver a mind-blowing challenge for players of all abilities.

For a different golfing experience, visit the Secret Garden, the Flower Bowl’s 18-hole crazy golf course like no other. Outdoors, but fully protected from the weather, the course features living trees, a challenge-filled junkyard, quirky potting shed, real flower borders and a Japanese garden. Four of the holes are played in a dramatic fern gully with towering rock faces and a waterfall.

Barton Grange MD, Guy Topping, is a crazy-golf enthusiast who has played courses the world over. Inspired by his experiences, his aim was to create ‘the best crazy golf course in the world’ and there is certainly a surprise around every corner of the Secret Garden.

Once you’ve satisfied your appetite for golf, you can visit the eight-lane, luxury bowling alley, or one of the three cinemas with plush, sofa-style seating. Or, for something completely different, try your hand at the ancient sport of curling, perfect for all ages and abilities. The Flower Bowl has only the second curling rink south of the border – Olympic-sized, with four ice sheets, it’s a magnificent facility which is introducing the sport to a whole new generation of players.

Next to the golf simulators, there’s a bar and games area, where people can enjoy a drink and a game of shuffleboard or pool on a flower-shaped table.

There’s also a coffee bar, with a viewing area overlooking the curling rink, and two separate restaurants. Blooms serves a laid-back menu of small plates, flat breads, hot dishes, burgers and salads and The Ocean is a traditional fish and chip restaurant.
