SUNSET SHADES

The 2019 colour trend is most definitely coral with designers, furniture makers and fabrics all featuring this beautiful shade that adds warmth and vibrancy to any space

Living coral has been named Pantone’s 2019 Colour of the Year and it has been described as an animating and life-affirming hue that energises and enlivens with a softer edge.

Trend expert and lead designer at British soft-seating brand Icon, Allison Chatten, says it’s a colour which works well in a variety of interiors.

“Coral is a versatile colour which has been rising in popularity recently. It’ll be especially great for the spring collections as it works particularly well in natural light. Whether it’s warm, peachy hues, terracotta or lighter pinker shades, coral can be easily teamed with different colours. It works equally well alongside muted lights as it does with more vibrant pieces, so it really is an adaptable colour.”

Icon’s terracotta armchair, new for SS19, is a soft fill seat which moulds perfectly to the user with the back rest and arms providing firm support.

The Serenity lounger also moulds to the body and can be used as an upright chair for chatting with friends or as a laid back lounger perfect for rest and relaxation or soaking up the sun.

The Eclipse stool is a lightweight pouffe which is useful for pulling out at a moment’s notice, or even as an informal table for placing down magazines or newspapers.

All three pieces are made from a tactile, water-resistant material meaning they can be used indoors or out.
