Take Two Classic British Brands

Meena McDonald visits Gainsborough Flooring to find out about the new Brintons’ Laura Ashley Collection

Brintons started manufacturing carpets in Kidderminster in 1783 bringing homes to life with their stunning range of practical, hardwearing and beautiful carpets.

Laura Ashley started by printing fabrics on a kitchen table in London in 1953 and now produces paint, wallpaper and curtains for customers all over the world.

Bring the two of them together and you achieve a much-loved classic English country look which can now be extended to beautifully soft and welcoming floors.

This partnership between the two companies famous for their quality and flair brings you the Brintons’ Laura Ashley Collection, a set of unique products blending traditional floral motifs with modern colours and aesthetic taste. A powerful statement for any home-owner or interior designer, they also have the advantage of Brintons’ woven construction, making them hard-wearing as well as gorgeous looking.

Taking inspiration from Laura Ashley’s extensive archive, the collection boasts 12 new Axminster designs including soft blossoms, smart stripes, elegant scrolls, damask patterns and bold blooms alongside four new Bell Twist plains to complement them. The Laura Ashley carpet collection celebrates the perfect mix of the brand’s history and modern outlook.

A carpet can truly transform the feel of any room in your home and Brintons’ exceptionally durable and versatile carpets with a timeless charm make them the perfect addition to any interior, especially as the nights start to draw in. This fabulous range of carpets are suited to rooms where you spend a lot of time such as a bedroom or living room, where relaxing is key to creating a happy space.

With Brintons’ 80/20 blend which combines 80 per cent wool with 20 per cent nylon you have the combination of softness and durability in a longer-lasting form. This is a fantastic sustainable choice for flooring as it insulates your home, is easily recyclable and biodegradable, plus shearing sheep is essential for their welfare!

Patterns or Plain?
Patterns are perfect for high-traffic areas like hallways and staircases, where dust and dirt are repeatedly trodden into the carpet. You can make a design statement while being both practical and welcoming with Brintons’ Axminster construction for patterned carpets.

A timeless yet stylish approach, a plain carpet can bring a sense of calm and functionality and is a natural companion to any interior, from a traditional country cottage to a modern city apartment.

Co-ordination is simple, as many of the colours in the carpet collection are used in Laura Ashley fabrics and wallpapers too. This will make it easy to create a harmonious flow from one room to the next.

Come and visit our extensive showroom to view this stunning collection.

We know you will be very impressed!
