The Future Is Green

As we all aim to progress to a more carbon neutral environment North West ACG Renewables Ltd talk to Gail Bailey about their success so far and one of their most recent installations

The combination of the need for a sustainable future and the rising cost of gas and oil means many businesses are looking to renewable energy providers to support their long-term energy needs.

Operations Director at ACG Renewables, Gerry Rhodes explains: “We recognise the need for companies to change their energy source and as we specialise in Solar PV for commercial facilities, along with undertaking the supply of battery storage systems, EV chargers and wind turbine systems, we are perfectly placed to support this change.

“We have seen the benefits that the installation of renewable energy systems bring to businesses and many commercial organisations have realised the significant reduction in costs from installing Solar PV – and with the important addition of reducing their carbon footprint too,” adds Gerry.

Energy matters and with many satisfied customers already, one recent installation is at local holiday and wedding venue, Ribble Valley Holiday Homes: “We have fitted 54 kwp of solar to the roof of the function venue which consisted of 108 500w solar panels,” explains Gerry. Impressively this equates to 7.89t of carbon saved a year (which is equivalent to 394 trees being planted per year) and a three-year return on investment.”

Hannah Heppel from Ribble Valley Holiday Homes says: “The team at ACG have provided high quality work and a great service for many years. We’ve recently invested heavily in our renewable infrastructure and ACG have been instrumental in this. Our largest properties as well as our new venue, each have photovoltaic system and EV chargers. Not only was our effort recognised by the 2023 Environmental Excellence Award from the RVTA, but it has also resulted in huge savings on energy costs.”

Helping businesses and homeowners to become more sustainable and carbon neutral is at the forefront of ACG Renewables’ ethos and as a company they are always looking to be different: “We wanted to offer a service that no one else currently does,” says Gerry. “So, we came up with the idea that for every kwp of solar installed we will plant a tree.”

Teaming up with Treeapp allows ACG to do this and to offer this unique service to their clients: “Our customers also have the option to personally go and plant the trees throughout various sites around the UK if they so wish, or we can leave it to the team at Treeapp and we then get regular updates and pictures.”
