John Ardern & Co will celebrate 30 years in business this year. The company was formed in 1991 by Principal John Ardern FNAEA, who has been an estate agent on the Fylde Coast since 1977 and was elected as a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents in 1984. Over the years, the company has been recognised as a Licensed Agency by the National Association of Estate Agents, a founder member of the Ombudsman Scheme and chosen for the prestigious Guild of Property Professionals.
Daughter Zoe Ardern MNAEA and son Mathieu Ardern are both directors, having joined the company 20 and 15 years ago respectively. “We are a true family company, with a core value of providing the very best customer service,” John says. “This is a way of life for us. Every client has my mobile number and our vendors have the security of knowing they can always call me. We have a long-standing history of providing a highly effective, friendly, personal and professional service our clients can rely on.
“We are backed up by an excellent long-standing team, who have almost all been with us for at least 7 years, including senior sales negotiators Tina Bradshaw and Paul Farman, who is actually also an auxiliary firefighter, so he has permission to rush off at any moment! This longevity and continuity of service gives real confidence to our buyers and vendors.
“When we first opened our doors back in 1991 I ordered 12 boards, hoping to attract 12 properties in the first month,” John says. “The response was phenomenal and we actually gained 83 properties in that very first month.
“We have seen many highs and lows of the property market over the years. This experience and our level of service brought us one of our greatest achievements 10 years ago, being chosen to become members of the Guild of Property Professionals. The very careful vetting process means members can have absolute confidence in recommending colleagues across the country to provide the very best service and we get recommendations every day from other members of buyers looking for a property in our area.
