FANTASTIC FAMILY DAY OUT

TAKE A STEP BACK IN TIME IN THE FRIENDLIEST OLD HOUSE IN LANCASHIRE

Samlesbury Hall is open all year round, with free entry for the whole family to enjoy! On Sundays there are free guided tours, when you will be enthralled with nearly 700 years of bewitching history.

Stroll through the historic rooms with award winning guides, meander through the 14th century Hall and pretty gardens at your leisure or enjoy an afternoon tea by the courtyard fountain on a summer’s day.

Stay for a yummy lunch and dine in their award winning restaurant, with food made only with local produce and grown in their grounds where possible. For those of you with a sweeter tooth, sample the delights on offer in the 1950s style Dottie’s Wafflery – from ice-cream sundaes to a Banoffee waffle to a marvellous milkshake (the choice is yours).

Nestled in the historic woodland is one of the best playgrounds you will find in Lancashire – complete with its very own miniature hall! Don’t forget to take the family to meet the menagerie of animals, with pigs, pygmy goats and the hall’s very own honey bees – you can even taste raw honey in the bee centre.

During the school holidays there is always fantastic entertainment with Betsy Bumblebee, she’ll have the whole family in stitches with her wickedly funny tales, treasure hunts and crafts.

Round off your visit with an evening round the campfire in the amazing hamlet of shepherd’s huts. Glamping in the heart of Lancashire at its greatest, the huts are fully en-suite with the comfiest memory foam mattresses for the best night’s sleep! Cook evening dinner on your own barbeque and toast marshmallows until the sun goes down, whilst your children can explore the beautiful grounds of this historic hall.
