A GREAT DAY OUT

For a fantastic day of country entertainment visit one of the upcoming agricultural shows that feature livestock, competitions, food and lots of fun!

There is something quintessentially British about agricultural shows. On a sunny summer’s day you can’t beat a trip out to a country show that represents all that the Lancashire countryside has to offer, celebrating all aspects of farming and rural life.

With classes for different farm animals including sheep, cattle, horses, ponies and shire horses plus poultry, pigeon and egg sections and a dog show, it is a fantastic day out for all the family. At most shows there are also classes for cheeses, handicrafts, cakes and preserves, a large horticultural section plus trade stands and local rural crafts.

Sample food from local producers, there is often a display of vintage vehicles plus entertainment for children. For an entertaining great-value summer day out visit one of these shows and see what the local farming community has to offer.
