An Estate Agency With A Spring In Its Step!

2021 has started positively for Athertons Property & Land and the company has marched out of winter into spring in a similarly purposeful style

Established back in 1994 and with offices in both Whalley and Blackburn, Athertons has long been one of the Ribble Valley’s best-known specialists in the sale of property and land. A family business that prides itself on offering a professional yet friendly service, the agency has recently undergone both a physical and digital spring clean.

Interactive and user-friendly
Athertons has launched a new website that is designed to be even more informative and interactive than its predecessors. As well as browsing all current listings, visitors can arrange viewings, register their details and request a valuation of their own property. Director Jim Atherton said: “The internet is the most popular way in which people look for properties. However, they don’t just look during the day, they browse online in the evening and it’s essential that we are able to capture their interest, details and requirements. We wanted our website to be as interactive and user-friendly as possible, helping them to find out about our listings and also our involvement in the community.”

Freshening things up
The Athertons website is not the only thing to have undergone a major transformation. The company’s head office, on King Street in Whalley, has had a facelift both internally and externally. Renowned for extending a warm welcome to visitors, the office has been freshly decorated and some returning vendors have described it as being even brighter than was previously the case.

The same is true of the outside, with the new illuminated display boards already helping to attract fresh interest in the listed properties. Athertons looks forward to welcoming even more visitors to the office, with regular coffee mornings in the offing once lockdown restrictions have eased sufficiently.

At the heart of the local community
Athertons has long been described as ‘part of the fabric of Whalley’, a fixture in a village renowned for its community spirit and hospitality. Alongside its administration of Whalley Chamber of Trade, of which Managing Director John Atherton is Chairman, the company is tireless in its support of local community clubs and good causes.

It has recently renewed its sponsorship of Whalley Golf Club, ensuring the continuation of a sponsorship ‘clean sweep’ of sporting clubs in the village – it is already the proud sponsor of Whalley Cricket and Tennis Clubs and Dog Inn FC, Whalley’s only adult football team. Athertons also sponsors Whalley Pickwick, Whalley Live and Whalley Big Weekender, along with Blackburn Rugby Club and the Royal Lancashire and Hodder Valley Shows.

John Atherton says: “We are fortunate to live and work in such a beautiful place and we are passionate about supporting local initiatives, not least those linked to sport, health and wellbeing.”
