General Practice Back in the Heart of the Community

Some of you may remember when your doctor was at the heart of the community. Your name, your family history and your lifestyle were all familiar to them

That doesn’t just have to be nostalgia anymore. You can have that experience again with the new Fylde Private GP which will be opening in the heart of St Annes this summer. The surgery will provide access to a modern, comfortable, clean and state-of-the-art facility.

The concept has been the brainchild of Corbenyah, a boutique private equity house that looks to invest in projects that have a clear benefit to people in the community.

This new service provides some fantastic benefits, which will deliver tailored healthcare to local residents, including:
• A 30-minute consultation time.
• Seeing patients within 24 hours using an online booking portal or by calling to book.
• Offering patients, a choice of GP at home, over the phone, video call or at the local practice.
• Building long-lasting relationships with patients to understand their healthcare and wellbeing needs.

The private service will be delivered through a range of packages with patients being able to join on a monthly subscription basis or pay as they go, if that is a more appropriate choice. There will be options for single people, couples and families, with discounts available for larger family households.

Additionally, there will be corporate monthly packages available to businesses in the area who wish to invest in the healthcare of their employees.

Matthew Cook, Managing Director of Fylde Private GP, and formerly the Hospital Director for Nuffield Health’s Leicester Hospital, commented: “Our aim is to offer easy access to high quality, convenient healthcare to individuals and local businesses in the Fylde Coast area. The pressure on the NHS is immense and the pandemic has heightened awareness of health issues which people are keen to resolve quickly.”

Fylde Private GP can refer patients for private consultations, diagnostic investigations, tests and scans and also offer minor surgical procedures in their treatment room. Additional services include health screening and immunisations.

The new practice is regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all GPs are fully qualified doctors and registered with the General Medical Council with licences to practice.

Matthew concluded: “The Healthcare market has changed dramatically in recent years and 25 per cent are now self-funding patients who are keen to have a speedy diagnosis and treatment, avoiding the long NHS waiting lists.

We believe our service offers people the choices they are looking for with demand right across the age spectrum, but greatest in the over 60s who have more disposable income and are willing to pay privately for healthcare.”
