GOURMET GETAWAYS

The award-winning Freemasons at Wiswell is celebrating yet more accolades with a series of luxury packages and seasonal spring menus

As many regular readers know the Freemasons has won countless awards for its food over the last 10 years with 2020 being no exception with its retention of third spot in the prestigious Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastro Pub Awards.

Perhaps more interestingly, but with no real surprise, are the awards recently bestowed upon them by the AA. Within six months of opening the four luxurious bedrooms they were awarded an AA 5* Gold Rating for a Restaurant with Rooms, the incredible breakfast has achieved the AA Breakfast Award and the Freemasons now boasts three AA rosettes – an incredible achievement in such a short space of time!

Steven Smith has always wanted people to share in their success and to celebrate there are some exciting great-value packages available through to Easter to take advantage of:

MIDWEEK GOURMET GETAWAY: £160 – £190 with accommodation in the ground floor rooms complemented with a signature five-course dinner and the award-winning breakfast to complete your stay.

SUNDAY LUNCH GETAWAY: £160 – £220 (until 26th April) with an earlier 2pm check-in there’s plenty of time to enjoy a delicious late three-course Sunday lunch with a restful evening and an award-winning breakfast.

CELEBRATION GETAWAY: £160 – £220 (until the end of March – Tuesday to Friday) complemented with a five-course signature dinner and full English Breakfast served in Mr Smiths.

The recently refurbished kitchen and Mr Smith’s private dining is also thriving with a variety of options that include groups of six to 12 people sitting at the ‘kitchen table’ to enjoy an intimate private dining experience.

The ‘kitchen bench’ has just four seats and is in the heart and hub of the kitchen and creates the ultimate gastronomic experience. This area also hosts experiences such as Chef of the Day and the Cookery Masterclass, which are fabulous gift ideas for Mother’s Day and other special occasions.

The main restaurant still prides itself on being totally inclusive with a menu and price point for everyone to enjoy – the signature Taste of Freemasons is complemented by a seasonal A La Carte menu as well as the ever popular set lunch and early supper. Sunday lunch is a must with traditional and elegant food and The Freemasons is fast getting a reputation for developing and evolving a range of vegetarian and vegan options – literally something for everyone.

There are so many reasons to visit the Freemasons this spring and the website is being constantly updated with special events, availability and special packages.
