IN SAFE HANDS

Enjoy peace of mind, quality care and low costs at RejuvaMed’s pioneering varicose vein treatment centre in Clitheroe, writes Sarah de Waard

RejuvaMed has built a nationwide reputation for quality care and exceptional results. Heading up the team is Medical Director and owner Dr Grant McKeating, a consultant anaesthetist with over 25 years’ experience, and medical cosmetics specialist.

With an established, award-winning aesthetics clinic in Chorley, the team now also has premises in Clitheroe, which incorporates its successful varicose vein treatment centre – the only dedicated facility of its type in Lancashire.

Led by consultant vascular surgeon Robert Salaman, the vein centre has established itself as a leading provider of varicose vein treatment in the North West, at prices way below Lancashire’s private hospitals.

Mr Salaman has worked both within the NHS and privately for over 29 years, and is clinical director of vascular surgery at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. He now consults solely at RejuvaMed and has carried out many successful procedures at the clinic, so patients can be sure they are in safe hands.

Dr McKeating tells me: “Funding for treatment for painful, aching varicose veins is now being withdrawn by the NHS in East Lancashire, meaning that patients will have to pay for their procedure. We are therefore pleased to provide a safe, relatively painless treatment with excellent results and minimal recovery time. Our appointments are available within three weeks, meaning you can get the treatment you need quickly. We don’t have the same overheads as the large private hospitals, and work more efficiently, so we can offer the same treatment for up to £1500 less. That’s a huge saving.

“There is no need to undergo expensive and risky surgery under general anaesthesia if you wish to say goodbye to your varicose veins, or to travel further afield for your treatment. We welcome patients with private medical insurance and are approved by the major private health insurers, and also offer interest free credit, making repayments easily affordable over 10 months.”

Although there are several ways to treat varicose veins, Mr Salaman specialises in radiofrequency ablation, a minimally invasive procedure that is highly effective in treating almost all cases, whatever the severity.

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia and often takes as little as 30 minutes. Aftercare is simple, and a follow-up appointment is made for six weeks post procedure to ensure that it has been a success. Occasionally patients will need further treatment, which can also be carried out at the clinic.

The clinic is soon to unveil a new treatment, VenaSeal™, which uses a medical adhesive to seal the main defective vein. The procedure is more comfortable both during and after treatment, and patients are not required to wear compression stockings afterwards, meaning they can return to normal activities immediately.

“We have brought the exceptional reputation of our skin clinic to the varicose vein centre,” Dr McKeating tells me. “Our top priorities are safety, treatment results and the highest levels of patient satisfaction.”

The vein centre also offers treatment for spider and thread veins of the leg and face.
